Wedding Planning Resources & Tips from Sara Kauss Photography and Wedding Wire

Planning your wedding is such an exciting time! You have all the Pinterest boards, been thinking about dresses and flowers since you were little, and you have a beautiful vision on your head. Now, where do you begin bringing it all to life? Thankfully there are a ton of wedding planning resources, and friends like us, who can help you with the process!

Wedding Planning Resources | Sara Kauss Photography and Wedding WireThe first thing to consider is hiring a wedding planner. We understand this may not be in the budget, but if you can swing it, this is a huge help! There are so many moving parts of a wedding to consider, from planning to the wedding day itself. Just on the wedding day, think about who will coordinate the tables and chairs to arrive? Who will usher your guests from ceremony to reception? Who will be in charge of making sure the trash is being picked up during the evening? (You’d be surprised how even the sweetest of humans are pretty messy when it comes to outdoor shindigs!) These are just a few elements to consider, and if your venue is more DIY like this one at Lucky Old Sun Ranch, there will be a lot more vendors and schedules to coordinate.

When should my hair and makeup be finished? When should the bridesmaids be in their dresses? How much time should we leave for a first look? An experienced photographer can help you determine all of these factors so that your wedding day photographs run smoothly and without stress! When the day is over, the cake has been eaten, and the flowers have wilted, your photographs will preserve all of those detail and memories, so give them high priority on your list!

Wedding Planning Resources | Sara Kauss Photography and Wedding WireWith all that being said, don’t be overwhelmed! Start early. Ideally, 12 months before your wedding you will be deciding on important vendors like your photographer, venue, planner, and hair and makeup. Shortly after that, it’s time to hire your videographer, florist, and caterer.
