Thomazeau, Haiti : Live Beyond : Day 6

These are the journaling’s of our 6 days in Haiti.

Day 6, Tuesday

Leaving today, I felt like this experience is one of many, but the first one will always have a special place in my heart. In all our hearts. We’ve laughed and cried every day. We’ve been touched by the people of Thomazeau, their spirit is infectiously beautiful.

The Live Beyond’s motto of helping one person at a time reminds me of my mother-in-law’s slogan, “just do one thing at a time” – we cannot single handedly change the world, but by helping one person at a time the epidemic of faith and hope will spread organically. In Thomazeau, the Vanderpool’s are already changing many villages from Voodoo to Christ believers, by showing God’s love to one person, like Annette, the rest of the people see and want to be a part of the powerful change.

Believe in the power of one.

Back home, finalizing this last blog post from the trip, I’m reminded how we can all help in our daily lives. To live beyond your comfort zone, your little bubble, to help others. Although I think everyone should go help in Haiti, if you’re not comfortable, you can make a difference right here at home by sharing the Live Beyond story with your friends and finding ways to contribute. Truly help your neighbor, selflessly give without the ability to be given anything in return.

If you or someone you know would like to participate in the wonderful work Live Beyond is doing, I strongly encourage you to check out www.livebeyond.com and if you are in Nashville, attend a special presentation by Scott Hamilton and the Live Beyond group on Tuesday, April, 22nd. Details in the image below.

Thank you, all of you who have followed this blog series, sent me encouraging text messages, Facebook notes, emails and retweeted these journal’s. By sharing Live Beyond’s story, you are making a difference already and that is a beautiful, selfless thing.

With Lots of Love, Sara
