Kea and Tom. It has been nothing but fun, getting to know these two wonderful people. When I met Kea and her Mom at Starbucks over a year ago, we immediately hit it off! We talked about Kea and Tom’s wedding, how they met in college, the great times they’ve had together and planned their New York City engagement session.

It was in NYC that I met the sarcastic, warm-hearted, hubby-to-be, Tom. (http://wp.me/pS0cn-2in) Florida is a destination wedding hot-spot for our Northern friends. And I’m so glad it is! Being from Minnesota, I swear, some of my favorite people come from those upper states :) Maybe I’m biased! But, it’s true!

Their wedding day…could not have been more perfect. Every detail planned by Kea was creative, clean and beautiful! Tom gave the most genuine toast to his bride to be during the reception that I will try to rephrase, summing up all of Kea’s hard work and love for the details of her wedding day…Tom said, Kea worked hours into the night, while working on her Master’s degree planning her wedding day for everyone else. Kea wanted her guests to have a day they would remember and she worked tirelessly to make that a reality. Tom gave his new bride all the credit for their wedding day and told her how he realized that although he didn’t understand till their wedding day really why she was focusing on this day so much, he realized today [their wedding day] that she did all of it for him too, and he loved her so much for it. I’m hoping I didn’t botch up Tom’s eloquent speech too much! The summary I took away is these are two amazing people, with incredibly nice family and friends that were there on April 21st. It was an honor to be their chosen photographer and I’ve truly enjoyed getting to know them! Thank you also, to Carrie and Alyssa for making their wedding day photographs wonderful!

Kelly and Jay Cashmere’s Wedding

Kelly and Jay Cashmere’s Wedding

You know a couple is good together when every time you’re around them your smile hurts from laughing, hours after you’ve gone home!  Kelly and Jay are one of those signature couples that everyone wants to be like; they have fun together, they look like Barbie and Ken, and honestly, they’re just great to be around.  I wish nothing but a lifetime of laughter for these two and was honored to be a part of their special day!

Congratulations and thank you to Wedding’s Illustrated for featuring my friends in their magazine this season!  Kelly and Jay, you deserve all the happiness in the world.

Mar-a-Lago Wedding

Mar-a-Lago Wedding

Thank you to Weddings Illustrated for featuring the lovely Melissa and Eric’s wedding held at Bethesda-by-the-Sea, church on Palm Beach, and reception at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago, on Palm Beach. It was as amazing of an affair as it looks in the photos, planned by It! Weddings and Events.  Every detail was simply elegant and well planned out, giving Melissa and Eric’s guests an experience I’m sure they are still talking about!  Sara Kauss Photography was able to be a part of the guest favors, which was fun for us…we did a formal photo station with each guest as they entered the reception and then printed each photo, onsite and It! Weddings and SKP inserted the images into frames for the guests as they left the reception.  It was a very unique, personal favor that we loved being a part of.  Lastly, a huge thank you to my great friend, Josh Newton (www.joshnewton.com) who flew in from California to assist me as the second photographer on Melissa and Eric’s wedding.  And thank you to Alyssa, Carrie and Kim for being there too!  Enjoy the wedding post of images, let us know what your favorite part of their wedding was!

Philladelphia Wedding Photographer – Jenifer and Bryan

Philladelphia Wedding Photographer – Jenifer and Bryan

I was honored to get the call from Jenifer a couple weeks before her wedding, she said something like this “Sara, I’ve been following your work for a couple years and didn’t really think that you’d come to photograph our wedding in Philly. The photographer I hired kept asking me what I meant by ‘creative photos,’ and to show him samples of what I considered creative. That’s when I just thought, you know what, I’m going to call you!” even though I was in between travels weeks from LA to Nashville, I was beyond excited to say of course, I’d love to come photograph your wedding! And couldn’t be happier I did! Jenifer and Bryan, your wedding day was a gorgeous, crisp, but not cold, Philadelphia winter wedding! Thank you for having me a part of such a great day in your lives :) Sara

St. Patrick’s Day Wedding | Maggie and Jim

St. Patrick’s Day Wedding | Maggie and Jim

Maggie and Jim’s St. Patricks Day Wedding! Congratulations to these adorable people. Maggie and Jim told me they were having a wedding on St. Patricks Day with hints of green, and I couldn’t help but wonder how it would come out! Wow. It was absolutely perfect, beautifully done, elegance with a touch of luck :) The bridesmaids dresses and groomsmen’s ties were a really pretty shade of olive green, accented by purple flowers. They threw in a couple fun, St. Patricks Day things, like Maggie’s Green Wedding Shoes and fun, crazy socks! We did do a photoshoot with all the fun wedding party with St. Patricks Day props! I must admit, my favorite photo from the day was on the beach with a bunch of random Spring-Breakers, who jumped in our photo — what a great day. And it was fun to see one of my favorite couples, Abigail and Jon at their wedding :) Congratulations again!
